“Apparition at Antelope Canyon” was photographed at Antelope Canyon near Page, AZ. This is a narrow slot canyon sculpted by water that is only 6 to 12 feet wide that towers above you and is best viewed from 11 am to 1 pm when sunlight optimally illuminates the rock formations and colors. To see the shafts of light, sand from the canyon floor is tossed into the air. With a longer exposure as the sand falls it creates ethereal images reminiscent of those whose footsteps have long been washed away.
