“Subtlety of Change” is a limited edition landscape print which was photographed at Antelope Canyon near Page, AZ, and altered in Photoshop to suggest the external forces shaping the imperceptible changes to the canyon over time. This is a towering narrow slot canyon with sculptural walls shaped by water, wind, and ice that is only 6 to 12 feet wide. The canyon reveals its sculptural beauty between 11 am to 1 pm when sunlight optimally illuminates the rock formations and colors. To see the shafts of light, sand from the canyon floor is tossed into the air. As the sand falls it creates ethereal images reminiscent of those whose footsteps have long been washed away. The image attempts to capture and enhance the canyon’s unique qualities.
